Employers Should Ensure Workplace Compliance Posters are Updated for 2014

As the new year begins, Texas employers should ensure their workplace compliance posters are up-to-date and meet all regulatory requirements.

Texas requires all employers to display posters containing information on the Texas Payday Law, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Occupational Safety and Health Act, the Workers’ Compensation Program, the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, and the Employee Polygraph Protection Act.  Employers with 15 or more employees, and smaller employers with federal grants and contracts, must also post a notice entitled “Equal Employment Opportunity is the Law,” which concerns the Equal Employment Opportunity and Americans with Disabilities Act laws.

The workplace compliance posters are available for free through the Texas Workforce Commission at www.texasworkforce.org/ui/lablaw/posters-workplace.html. Employers do not need to laminate the posters to satisfy regulatory requirements.
